How can I use symbolism, expressions, and color to represent how one’s view of the world shifts as they grow/ how time shifts visual forms?

This photo portrays how a child's perspective may be different from that of an adult's. This is physically represented by flipping his field of view upside-down!

Children are astonishingly good at using their imaginations to exaggerate perspectives- represented by the video-game style fish. By placing the fake fish in a real setting, it comes across as surreal and full of imagination, as per how a child may see the world.

A child sees glitter as something pretty- a craft, a toy, something to enjoy. Somebody more mature, however, is more likely to perceive glitter as nothing more than a mess.

The motion blur in the image helps illustrate how children are in a constant state of motion. I used vivid colors to represent the life and newness of everything a child may perceive.

Where a child sees a flower, an adult sees a weed, highlighting the difference in perception as we grow. I used the dandelion as a symbol of diverse perspectives and difference in view as we grow.

The youthful mind sees everything as new, and therefore unfamiliar. This may prompt them to pay especially close attention to the minor details and beauty of things, where somebody older might miss. By capturing the lady bug at such a small scale, and emphasizing the textures, we can get an idea of the unique beauty a child may see.

It's perhaps every child's desire to smother any food they can in sugar... A distinct childlike creativity and lack of experience is crucial to really consider using chocolate sauce as a dressing.

When you're younger the most of your concerns is the arrangement of your dollhouse. As you get older, responsibilities grow, and the scale of the home you look after does too. This illustrates how priorities shift as time passes.

Where your average adult may see no more than a closet, a child may see a threat- there is a certain terror in the unknown, potential monsters concealed by shadows. As we grow, we become more aware of the unlikelihood of any threat hiding, but as a child, uncertainty is danger.

By separating the hues in the image, we get an idea of the vibrance and brightness a child sees in his day-to-day life, contrasting with a duller, less lively world as we age.

The broken pencil and red markings, represent the rebellion in teenagers- a refusal to comply, a distress at shifting into a more structured and routine life.

By exaggerating the contrast and dulling the colors, we can highlight the monotony in perspective of an older person, and using a child-related subject- the bicycle, to illustrate the contrasts between a child's perspective an adult's.

The child's shoes are dirty, full of life and play, while the adult's shoes are clean and professional. This highlights the difference in how one may spend their time and materials at different times in their life.

Stuffed animals are perhaps one of the most key objects in a younger person's life. A comfort item, a friend, a toy- while to your average adult a stuffed animal is hardly anything but a pile of fabric.
